This cat must be taken to a veterinarian ASAP. You understand that an umbilical hernia is A) a genetic defect that can be passed on to her kittens; and B) a tear in the muscles that hold her abdomen in place. Possibly you are unaware of this, but kittens are grown in the abdomen. Yes, they are grown inside the uterus, but the uterus is inside the abdomen. Attempting to carry these kittens to full term is going to add enormous stress to the tear that is already there. I fear her life is in danger. And I fear if you neglect her by not taking her to a veterinarian NOW she is going to die an ugly, painful, and unnecessary death.

That’s a question your vet will have to answer. My guess is it would depend on how large the hernia is. Exactly where is is located and the cat’s tolerance and threshold for pain.

It is really a good idea to ask your vet, depends on how big the hernia is. It would really be a good idea to take her to the vet and spay/abort her though.
