my kitten doesn’t clean himself after using the litter tray?

Question by : my kitten doesn’t clean himself after using the litter tray?
I have a six week old kitten is litter trained and he is very healthy and playful. However, he doesn’t clean himself after using the litter tray, so I have to clean up that area myself. I don’t mind doing this, but I was wondering if he will learn to do this himself at some point. He hates having to stand still long enough for me to clean him, but I will not let him run around while being dirty and he makes it very difficult for me to clean him myself.
Any tips?

Thank you in advance!

  1. Wesley says:

Cats don’t clean themselves right after the “do their business,” they do it later when they do their routine cleaning. This has been the case with all cats I’ve had and with the cats of people that I know.
And he won’t be dirty, a cats rear end is different from that of a human, I don’t expect much of a clean up would be needed.
